Meeting the official guide in St. Mark’s Square.

Andrea Palladio, the most important architect of the Venetian renaissance, built the city’s three most noteworthy churches of the 16th century: S. Giorgio Maggiore (from the tower of which you can see the best panorama of Venice to be found) and, on the nearby Giudecca island, the Zitelle and the Redentore.

St. Mark’s Basin

By public “vaporetto” we cross the St. Mark’s Basin to the Island of S. Giorgio where we visit the church of S. Giorgio Maggiore (with possibility of seeing the nice view from the top of the belltower – at extra costs).

From S. Giorgio Maggiore again with public vaporetto we cross to the Giudecca, and enjoy one of the most pleasant walks in Venice, the stroll along the waterfront to the Zitelle (just for an external view) and the Redentore, and the view back across the basin to St. Mark’s Square.

After the visit, retrun to St. Mark’s Square by Vaporetto.

For the visit of the churches, suitable clothes are requested.

For security reasons sacks, bags or knapsacks are not allowed inside the churches.

The tour lasts about 3 hours.

It can be operated every day except Sunday at 09.00 am, 11.10 am, 01.10 pm and 03.10 pm
