This tour is especially designed for children: we tailored it to the need and interests of our younger guests so that they end up being our audience.

In Murano visit of an old glass-blowing factory with demonstration of the old glass-blowing techniques.

After the demonstration, you will be a glass artisan yourself after choosing between one of the following two workshops:

BEADS WORKSHOP

during this experience in the world of glass beads, participants will create their own object like necklace, bracelet, earrings and keychain, choosing from the many models available.

Before starting the practical part will be given a brief history of the origins of the glass and then illustrate the processes and equipment used.

Our creative jewelry will assist all participants to create a unique and original glass manufacture.

Participants will have a large variety of glass beads made with different techniques such as beat, the underground, the crushed, the colorful, the floral, and many others who will be divided into distinct categories with numbers assigned according to the value of the individual item.

Choosing the beads and adding the number assigned to each category, you have to reach a score of 100 thus being able to create even more objects.

At the end of the course, each participant is allowed to bring the created object.

GLASS MOSAIC WORKSHOP

Mosaic is one of the oldest techniques of Murano and some of the most spectacular examples in Venice are the Basilica of San Marco and the Church of San Donato.

Our small workshop will allow participants to use different pieces of glass, called “tessere” and several models of murrine “millefiori” to create their own personalized object.

Also suitable for beginners, each person will have to choose a wooden model representing a heart, a flower, a butterfly, a frame or plate and decorate it with the mosaic technique with all the glass materials available.

The created object can be used as a pendant for necklace, paperweight, keychain or decorative object.

Each participant will have 45 minutes of time and will be followed by our artisans so that the finished product is performed in a workmanlike manner.

Everyone will take away their own unique object in Murano glass

Then journey to Burano, famous for its coloured houses and for the production of the “Lace”.

In Burano a typical Venetian ‘cicchetto’ (snack) will be offered in one of the local bars.

From Burano journey to the Island of S. Giorgio for a panoramic view of the St. Mark’s Basin from its bell tower and for the visit of the Church built by Palladio in 16th C.

At supplement: possibility of pick-up at your hotel or at your cruise ship.

The tour finishes at St. Mark’s and lasts about 6 hours.

The tour includes a private tour escort, a private motor-launch, a snack on the Island of Burano and whispers audio headset (only for groups over 10 pax).

For the visit of the church suitable clothes are requested.

For security reasons sacks, bags or knapsacks are not allowed inside the churches, also the visit during liturgical celebrations is not permitted.
