VENICE PEOPLE MOVER ,<\/span><\/p>\n

is a monorail train that, without a driver, goes back and forth from piazzale Roma to the island of Tronchetto…<\/p>\n

Being an elevated shuttle, the trains offer quick (wheelchair accessible) connections between three points…<\/p>\n

Piazzale Roma, where locals and visitors arrive in the city by public bus, airport bus, cab or car.<\/p>\n

The cruise terminal at Marittima, where many passenger ships arrive and depart.<\/h2>\n

The Tronchetto parking island, which has indoor and outdoor parking for thousands of cars and is also the arrival point for most tourist buses. is a cable train system similar to the automated streetcars in many major airports.<\/p>\n

It is a monorail system that connects three of Venice’s transportation hubs: Piazzale Roma – Venice’s main public bus terminal from where you can catch public buses, buses to Marco Polo Airport and Treviso Airport, and cabs.<\/p>\n

Cruise Terminal of Venice Marittima – where all visiting cruise ships dock Tronchetto – an artificial island, easily accessible from Venice, which is dedicated to parking lots<\/p>\n

Take the People Mover from Piazzale Roma<\/h2>\n

At Piazzale Roma, a sign directs people to the station entrance.<\/p>\n

The signalized entrance to the People Mover station is located on the southwest corner of Piazzale Roma, next to the parking station.<\/p>\n

As you enter the building, you will see three ticket vending machines on your left. Whether you’re headed to the Marittima Cruise Terminal or up to Tronchetto, the fare is \u20ac1.50 for a one-way ticket.<\/p>\n

The machine accepts coins or euro bills and credit cards. People Mover Station<\/p>\n

A set of escalators takes you to the platform level of the. There is also an elevator that allows wheelchair travelers to board the People Mover.<\/p>\n

At the platform, glass walls enclose the train track from the platform where the train arrives. An electronic indicator above the door tells you when the next train will arrive.<\/p>\n

When the train arrives, the glass door on the far side opens to let passengers off, after which the door on the boarding side opens to let passengers on.<\/p>\n

The train then continued to Tronchetto for people headed to the parking lot.<\/p>\n
